2026 is set to be yet another record year for podcasting and audiobooks
Whew! The third Monday of January is behind us!!!
‘They’ call it Blue Monday - statistically the gloomiest day of the year thanks to the holidays fading, the credit card bills arriving, the motivation tank running dry, and payday still being, what feels like, weeeeks away.
The “Great December/January Chill” is almost over. That quiet, hazy lull is lifting. The out-of-office replies are dwindling, and as we head towards February, business is starting to vibe again.
We know 2026 is going to be another massive year for podcast growth.
(Whether you include YouTube videos in your definition or not.)And we know that audiobook listenership in South Africa is starting to stir
(I attribute much of the renewed interest to Spotify’s new offering.)
